I got it !

Hi All, This weekend I take delivery. White 2wd limited. 6 weeks early! So now I start option shopping for real. Are there any Grill options other than Stull? Any photos posted anywhere. I am leaning towards WD chip. I intend to install Amsoil bypass filter, and replacing diff. fluid with Redline. Hopefully Billstien will have shocks sometime soon. No heavy towing planed. Any thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks F-D for all the past info, what a great site.

Re: I got it !

Congratulations on your new ride! Your gonna love this vehicle. I don't know what you have against the Stull grill, they really look good on the Excursion. Street Scenes is supposed to be comming out with a clip-on grille, but from what I've seen the Stull is much nicer. Pictures don't really do these grilles justice, but I have a couple at http://albums.photopoint.com/j/Album...3356&a=6440921

Of course you have to get gauges.

Good Luck with whatever you choose!

Re: I got it !

Took delivery today! Changed my priorities on options in first 50 miles. This truck really needs shocks, big time! I will call Bilstien first thing tuesday. No cackle yet. Not as quick as my turbo diesel 91 2500 suburban, but will wait for a break in period before final judgement. Now I try to fit all the little things like cell phone. garrage door openier, kleenex holder, (I have aligeries).Anyone know how to remove the lower dash cover? I got the cupholder out, and the two screws at bottom. Don't want to force anything. Thinking of mounting the phone holder in that slot that looks like it would hold a pocket book. If I get any good ideas I will post them.

F-D

Please post if Bilstein has shocks for the Excursion PSD. Edelbrock does not have them yet and good shocks have become a priority.

Thanks.

Re: I got it !

PSAPROP,

Edelbrock does have IAS shocks for the Excursion. Mine are on order through carparts.com. Apparently there are some delays because they will not ship intil the middle of June. I spoke with and corresponded with Edelbrock's engineers because the shocks listed were for the gasser version. They told me it was ok to use the gasser version for the PSD although they would rather have a PSD Excursion to test with. No-one is offering. The weight differential in the front apparently will not make a significant difference in the handling characteristics of the PSD.

The stock shocks are awful. Shame on Ford--Penny wise and pound foolish!

Re: I got it !

I have a 99.5 PSD Crew Cab SuperDuty and love the Bilsteins I installed on it. I think they were $269 delivered from www.shox.com. I would recommend just ordering the ones for the pickup. I suspect the vehicle dynamics are almost identical between the excursion and the crew cab. Check with Bilstein.
