I lifted and retreaded the X
Well, I pushed the button today. After some serious shopping back and fourth I finally ordered tires and a lift. I have (4) Procomp 315/75/16 MT's and a superlift 5"(front)/4"(rear) lift coming early next week. I plan to buy new wheels in a few months after my wallet re-inflates.(promised the wife new carpet in trade for lift and tires)
I didn't get the smaller blocks and overloads in fear it would ride rougher. it's gonna be all block in back for the lift. That is the only thing i am uncertain about in the choice i made. i figured i could always air bag it if needed.
I hope it doesnt look too silly with stock wheels on it for a while
FWIW: I got the tires from an ebay store called Select tires. shipped to my door they were $650 even. they are new, not blems and were $74 cheaper than the next best price i could find
the lift I also got quasi ebay. I looked up the phone number from an auction for an F250/350 kit and called them about the X kit. I will be getting new front springs which (I hope) make it ride a little smoother and not bottom anymore. the total on it was $769 shipped. which again was $3 cheaper than the next best price BEFORE shipping.
now tell me how good/bad a choice i made
