I just had a 9" installed in my X recently. It is a panasonic
that Circuit City installed. They installed it just behind the rear
ac controls where the roof is flat. The trim piece that came with it wouldn't let them put it where the controls are. Thankfully the screen swivels to it isn't bad for 2nd row passengers.

I'm not all that savvy with the different size screens but does the larger 9-10" screens have just as much a viewing angle as say my 7.2"s?
I have seen the 10" on the internet and it looked good in the custom console that extended (attached to)the factory one,but I couldn't find the manufacturer. The 7" is small compared to the 10" and mounted aft of the HVAC control is too close to the passengers faces.
I put the Myron Davis unit in Rachel's Excursion and we have been very happy with it. Fit is perfect, screen is phenominal, kid's love it. Worth every penny in my world.
FWIW.

B,you have any pics of the 10" screen installed in the wife's X? I need a looksee
That myron and davis setup is slick but at 899$ for the screen alone is crazy. I can get the screen for 1/2 that but I can't get the shroud from my supplier. I may build my own from the deep universal shroud.
The screen would be way to close after the A/C controls.
And why 10.4" because the 15" is to big to fit.

Me Tooooooooooooooo!
when i had the 10.4" widescreen i removed the rear a/c controls sandwiched between the headliner and some wood. sucked up tight to heaadliner and looked factory. i removed the rear a/c to put the screen as far forward as possable so the people in the middle seat right and left have a better angle.
then i up it to the 15" and did the same but made a custom wood cradle. cover in the same headliner material to follow the headliner and with the added weight make it sturdier.
so as of right know it is a 15" concept screen that but's right up to the over head consel.great viewing angles.
I installed a 7.0 system in my X and I got an overhead console with it. PM me and I will send you a link to the people who I bought my system from. There website shows the Myron/Davis unit with a custom shroud to fit the X.
If you would like to see pictures of my set up (7.0 with one peice console), go to Webshots and search on my user ID. Look for the album "Overhead Entertainment System". I would post the link but it does not always take you there.

We just installed the G7 unit from Auto Cinema in our "X". Fully integrated unit that matches the interior perfectly. Yes, it does have a 10.4" screen. Here is a link to their website: http://www.autocinema.com/
It has a built in FM modulator and comes with two sets of wireless headphones. Out the door price was $1500.
I will post some pics later.
