Well, my first problem has arrived after having the X for almost a year. Three or four times in the last month when I turned off the ignition to stop the engine the key would turn far enough to stop the engine but would not continue to the lock position where I could remove it. I had to fiddle with it to get it to turn the rest of the way so I could remove the key. So far I have been able to get it out within several seconds, but I'm not looking forward to the day when it decides to stay. I haven't contacted the dealer yet since I can't get it to stick when I want. Have any of you experienced this? Do I just need some lock lube? Thanks...

Mine does the same thing. I was told to turn the steering wheel either way a small amount. Seems to work. Has something to do with the steering lock, that's what the dealer says, anyway.
Mine takes a notion to stick every so often. The best solution to mine is to move the gear shift lever more towards park and some times I have to hold the lever up with my left hand to turn the ignition off.

I guess my response has to be: I shouldn't have to do anything. Besides, it worked fine for about 11 months. I thought someone, like the dealer, might mention moving the steering wheel, but it happens when there is no pressure present. I'll probably eventually take it in, but I don't know how much satisfaction I'll get. Thanks for the replies, and post it if you find a fix & I'll do the same.

I couldn't get to the whole story, but that appears to be related to gasoline engine ingnition components (as in under-the-hood), not the "ignition" switch. Since I couldn't read all of it I'm not completely sure. Thanks, though...

Yep, I have to pull up on the shift lever, moving it toward park, to get the key out, almost all the time. Once you've got the key to turn, it works fine, until you drive around a little . It seems you have to drive it around and do several turns or go over a few pumps, for it to act up again. I've taken it to the deal for this 2 times, first times when I pulled up, the key would not come out. But when the rep came out his elbow hit the shift lever as he was looking at it and when he tried, the key came right out. The next time I couldn't get it to act up at the dealer. Of course almost everytime I'm not at the dealership and shut the beast off it sticks. I'll keep trying to get it in there and have then find out the problem. Just nice to see that I wasn't crazy and this is a problem others are having.

I have experienced a similar problem as mentioned but instead of not getting the key out, I can't get it to turn in order to start. Again, similar measures of cranking the wheel, moving the gear lever and pulling the tilt lever in wacky combinations seems to loosen it. I thought I was crazy since my dealer was "unable to duplicate". Good to hear that there might actually be an issue.
