Re: i'm sure you guys have seen this...

I found that when my '00 was on order in Feb/Mar of '00. What impressed me was the third comment from the top in the 'Excursion mailbag'. That guy sounds psycho!

Take Care

Re: i'm sure you guys have seen this...

Articles like that are funny. Sounds like the small car drivers have vehicle size envy. LOL.

I do like the post from Trish at Ford. Go girl!

Without the Excursion, we would be taking two vehicles all over the state of Colorado to our kid's soccer and basketball games every weekend. And 18 mpg isn't too shabby. And the kids do love all the power points. LOL. Who doesn't know what a power point plug in is????
Not everyone is single, with no kids and no place to go.

Some people will just never learn.

Parking the Excursion is a piece of cake compared to the F350!

An automotive magazine did a long term test on a diesel Excursion and after 50K miles of use they gave it very high remarks. It was commented that the vehicle was trouble free which is very rare. The crew members who used the vehicle were all sad to see it go when the time came to try out something else. The fuel mileage was reported to have been around 17 mpg.

Ya, a long bed crew SD is much longer. Even a short bed crew has a longer wheel base.

Only problem with parking the Ex is finding a place you can park where people don't use it as a door stop.

I'm convinced that is most of it right there. The first thing most people will say is, "I'll bet it is a "gas-hog"."

To which I reply, "I'll bet you $100.00 it uses less gas than your Subaru Forrester." Then you explain it uses no gas at all. And they are dumbfounded!

The last long trip I went on, the lie-o-meter indicated 19.5 mpg. If that thing is 2 mpg off as is commonly believed, that is still 17.5; comparable to many SUVs.

I don't think it is hard to park at all.

I think the Excursion has a 138" wheelbase. My truck has a 142" wheelbase. Even so, I believe the Excursion doesn't turn as short due to the fact the truck has the coil spring suspension, even though they are both '05s.

Re: i'm sure you guys have seen this...

I agree its so funny everyone who has seen my X says wow its so big

Funny thing is not a single person has ever said that about my lifted on 35's 250 supercab truck.

The truck is both higher and longer. I guess maybe the open bed on the truck gives the impression that its smaller somehow????

I agree parking the ex is like parking a compact compared to my 250.

Oh and what exactly is max towing weight for my 03 7.3L ex vs. my 03 6.0L F250? If anyone knows of the top of their head.

Are they that different? If so is the suspension the only thing limiting the potential?
