Info on lift kits requested

Hello,

I just took delivery of my second new X. The first one is now up for sale, since the dealer didn't want to even put a number on it for trade-in! (A plan purchase)

I have a No Boundaries 4X4 PSD, and want to look in to putting a lift on it. Nothing too radical, since my wife and four kids (under 10) will be with me most of the time.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Info on lift kits requested

Hey Aboater........

I have a 2001 PSD Excursion with a Fabtech 5.5" kit. I can give you some tips and pics if you would like? Just write me back and we can go from there. This forum is a little weak in regards to any types of performance mods in regards to Excursions? Myself and another guy here local have just about done it all in regards to these trucks. Therminators, Exhaust, and not the cheap exhaust either. The B&B All stainless do it the right way exhaust. Air raids, full guage packages, hypertech programmers. And a fully sprung every thing you can do suspension lift with dual shocks in front. Soon to be 7100 Bilsteins all the way around. Feel free to write!

Re: Info on lift kits requested

Rock24,

Thanks for the response. Your truck is AWESOME! I don't think I can get away with that much lift, (the kids and wife), but it would be nice to try.

More pix would be great. The questions that I have would be mostly how the lift affects the ride, both in firmness and noise/vibrations. I'm sure that the tires would also have a big effect. Any suggestions? Does the lift void any of the warranty?

Thanks again for the help.

Thanks again for your help.

Re: Info on lift kits requested

Thanks Aboater........

I will send some pics soon. My buddy has the same truck in the No Boundries version. Looks great! Plus he had the windows done and all the goods! Great looking ride! I actually think the trucks ride a whole lot better. I always have to laugh at all the comments about trucks getting out of control in the stock configuration. Meaning the purported porpoising and what not! LOL must be the first day with their new truck. I have been driving trucks for a long time, and have had every conceivable configuration known to man. Trucks are trucks! If you want something to ride like a car, then buy a car! Go ahead and lift the damn thing! You will be happy with the results! Gonna cost ya some dough, but it is worth the effort I think. Bottom line is that I took the stock Excursion and made it a whole lot better! And you will be the only guy on the block with one!
