Installed Stull Grill on 02

Cobramike was right, this is a pain install. Instructions are non existent in the kit. Screws aren't long enough to attach the center piece. You have to be a surgeon to cutout the side grills. Better have a cutoff wheel and a good air sander or you'll be there all day!
But the thing looks great in the all black X!!!
I've got the 18" wheels and Michelin 285 60R18 Pilots installed. Waiting on some bumpers I can paint black. Lucked out at the Ford dealer on the carpet, remember mine had a rubber mat option, as you can buy the front piece that goes to the third seat separate. That way I'll have a rubber floor cargo area. Last add on will be some black nerf bars. I got the Stull grill and bars on ebay for $220 for both.

Re: Installed Stull Grill on 02

Yup, takes a while to do. I actually did not mount the 2 outer grilles. They seemed to be fine being trapped in place by the plastic grille cover. They didn't rattle or move in the 71k I had on my 2000 X.
Dremeling the plastic took me a couple of hours trying not to scratch the chrome.
But it looked COOL!!!!

I'm glad it isn't just me that thought installing the Stull grille was a real pain in the *%!.I also just stuck the side pieces in.After I ground off about an 1/8th in of material from the bottom of them just to get 'em in the damn openings! How do they expect you to mark and drill for holes to mount them?X-Ray vision?
Does look nice though when it's done.

Re: Installed Stull Grill on 02

You know I thought those outer pieces would stay in without drilling the hidden holes. Now that I have drilled them and the angle is a little off the bottom corner, and the shell doesn't want to catch the clip. Maybe I'll undo them and let them ride! They fit tight with the clips attached, don't know how you would of ever put in the spacers they have in the instructions.
