Interior/Running Board lights don't work

I have a 2002 Ford Excursion Limited with the 7.3 PSD. I purchased it used about 2 weeks ago with just shy of 100K miles. I test drove it during the day and by the time I finished paperwork it was dark out. I loaded the family in and shut the doors. I noticed that the interior lights had been turned on via the overhead switches. I switched them off and headed home.

Upon reaching my house, we opened the doors to exit the vehicle.... no lights?????

I checked all of the fuses to no avail, so I called the dealership and was told to bring it back for them to look.

We have since taken it to the dealership, who is commited to fixing the issue and have already replaced the HEC module as it was showing issues. They were unable to fix the issue with the new HEC, so they will be taking my rig for 2-3 days next week.

Has anyone seen this issue before, and if so, what resolved it????

Any input would be appreciated.
