ISSPRO gauges

On the website the ISSPRO install pdf says to run the pyro thermocouple inside through the firewall by removing the plug for the clutch. Does an Excusion have this since they were not offered in manual trans ? I didn't see it when I installed Fog lights on my 2000. I would think there would be more manual trans conversions if it did.

It didn't occur to me that the hole that I used would have been for the clutch when I did my install, but that's exactly what I used.

BTW, next time you're ready to replace your warped rotors try ART rotors. They're not cheap, but you won't regret it. I think I've had mine over 4 years and more than 100k miles with no issues. I replaced the front pads last fall, but that was only because the drivers side hub failed on me and destroyed the pads. Prior to ART I think I replaced my rotors at least once a year!

Thanks, I wonder why no one is switching Ex's over to manual trans if the clutch cylinder hole is there ?? I would love mine as a manual trans.
Thanks for the rotor tip also! What's the purpose of the 4x2 lift gate cylinders ?

You're welcome. I don't know why nobody's switched over to a manual tranny. I'd prefer it too, but nobody ever talks about it, so I didn't give it much thought.
4X2 lift gate cylinders lift the gate a couple of inches higher. I think due to the higher ride height of the 4x4 model, the lift cylinders were shortened in an attempt to be able to lift the gate while the excursion is in a standard garage. Either that, or so that short house wives can still reach the gate on the 4x4 excursion. I'm 6'5" and none of my cars have ever been in any of my garages, so head clearance was a primary concern for me. Honestly I wish I could get that gate even higher, I still hit my head occasionally.
I see that you just joined recently...Welcome. There's a lot of helpful information and people here. I researched all of the modifications that I've done to my Excursion here, and I definately couldn't have done it without this website!

6 speed tranny

Someone from the powerstroke.org forums did the conversion and was even trying to sell it. He may be on these forums too.

It didnt seem too bad of a swap because the thread talked about swapping the auto tranny back into that ex, and being able to swap back a 6 speed. He probably has the know-how to do the conversion if you are really that curious.
