I drove a 4x4 Ultimate. It rode well and really got down the road pretty fast. I had told myself that I had to restrain from trading in my current X unless the new one was significantly better. With all the mod's I have put in my beloved truck, I just couldn't see anyway to get out of it. Well I don't have to worry. The new X was great, but not enough to get me to jump into it. The idiot salesman told me that I should make the trade, because the new one had "independant suspension" and mine didn't. I said "I think you are talking about the new Expedition", but he assured me that it was also on the Excursion. I didn't take the time to have him crawl under and tell me what he seen...what a jack*ss.
Oh my gosh, warn everybody about that character!
Yea my wife agrees,it'll be pretty hard to get her out of the 2002 we just picked up last summer.
Would have to do all the same finishing touches to make it right again.Once is enough

This reminds me of an old saying concerning salespeople, and just so happens to use a car salesman as the example (ironic). It goes,
"Don't buy a car from a salesman who doesn't know how to drive."
The point of the saying is that you would be an idiot to buy anything from a salesman who doesn't personally understand the product. Ironically, this Excursion sales guy didn't know squat about the X. And FORD wonders why they aren't selling the X's well...
That reminds me of the salesman that told me SRS (supplemental restraint system) on the steering wheel meant the car was a new model called SRS!!

I had a salesman experience today also. I dropped my 2000 X off because the warranty will expire in 7 days. I picked it up 3 years ago on Christmas Eve. (A true X-Mas) It only has 25,000 miles on it and is having transmission problems that I feel are not going away and want to get my concerns on record as well as drooped front end and noisy power steering. I asked if they had any 6.0 PSD Excursions, he said no 6.0's are going to be put in Excursions because they are dropping the line. He continued to tell me I did not want a 6.0 because the engine was too small and the 7.3 was much more powerful. There were several more stupid remarks but by that time I quit listening. He asked his boss if the 03 demo X they had was a diesel, low and behold the boss told him there was an Aspen Green Limited on the lot with the 6.0. After eating some crow we took a drive and I was as impressed as much as before in the King Ranch 250. Love that crack at start up, strong shifts, plenty of steady power with only 14 miles on it. Another dish of 6.0 sluggish performance crow for the salesman by the time we got back. Now I need to make my mind up on waiting and let the bugs get worked out later in the year or jump now. Leaning toward a Mineral Gray Limited with TT Mirrors and rear seat entertainment set up. Anyone interested in a Oxford White 2000 Limited PSD 25,000 miles in absolutely pristeen garage kept condition? I am feeling hooked!
