Just installed Walker Big Truck Muffler
It's a little louder.
I now have a little bit of a drone inside the truck.
The exhaust "flutter" is present, but I only hear it in the parking garage with the right rear window rolled down. It doesn't bother me. It just sounds like a raspy exhaust.
It cost me $30 to have it installed.
The tech cut out the old muffler and removed the curved pipe that was attached to it.
The new muffler fit right in between the end of the exhaust pipe where the curved pipe had been and the lowest portion of the pipe that came over the axle (where it had been cut off). The new muffler sits at a slight angle but it is still higher than the axle housing.
I'll wait and see if the wife says anything about the increase in noise. If she does, I'll either add a second, smaller, muffler inline or go the flex pipe route, maybe both.
