I've got an annoying problem on my wife's excursion that I'm trying to diagnose. If you push either the lock, or the unlock button on the keychain remote the doors lock. The keypad on the door however works just fine. It's a 2002 Excursion limited and this is the factory keyless system. Does anyone have an idea where to start troubleshooting this one?

that was my first thought too, but it does the same thing with both remotes for her Excursion. Thinking it may have been two bad remotes, we programmed my F350 remotes to her excursion, and her excursion remotes to my truck, and same deal. The remotes programmed to my truck (used to be her excursion remotes) work fine on the F350, and the remotes programmed to her excursion (used to work fine on my truck) have the exact same problem as her old ones. Whats weird is that throughout all of this the door keypad is fine. Is it wired or wireless on the excursions? I know it is wireless on my truck, but the one on the excursion looks different, it's flush with the door, not raised above like the one on the truck...

Sorry to hijack the post, but after reprogramming the remotes, how do you explain to your wife why you keep locking her out of her Excursion every time you leave in your pickup?
hmmm, ok this may be a lame idea but maybe disconnect the batts and it may reset itself?
