Well, I might do things a bit backward but, I ordered my PSD Excursion last month. Today I went and test drove one. I must say, what an awesome experience. It was an absolute pleasure! I have never driven a diesel before, and never anything the size of an Excursion (currently driving a '91 Aerostar). Fortunately the vehicle was almost exactely what I ordered. 2X4 Extate Green PSD (this was the only 2 wheel drive diesel they had, most of the PSD are 4X4). The purr of the PSD was inspiring and the smooth ride and handeling of a vehicle this size was remarkable. I ma jealous of all of you that already have one. With an ETA at the dealer of 4/10 this test drive may not have been the best idea, the wait will really be torturous now!
My experience with this dealer has been very good. In talking to the sales guy they have about 70 Excursions available. I know I have plugged these guys before, but they deserve it. If you are on the market for an Excursion I would recomend Covert Ford in Austin.

4X2 Estate Green Limited PSD Excurion. CD Changer, L/S Differential. Ordered 2/22. ETA 4/10!!!
Well... Initially I was told 7 weeks from the time I ordered. Here it is 5 weeks later and my new baby is rolling off the truck. Although I am extatic, it's a bit early (I do not get my bonus until Friday). These next few days are going to be torture!!! Fortunately the Dealer is willing to wait (I think it is their problem for getting it so quick ). I can't wait to join the PSD owners group!
Counting on sleepless nights until it's in my Driveway.

Hehe, we did the same thing you did...ordered an Excursion in Wedgie Blue, THEN test drove one.
We DID sit in a few before ordering. We didn't have many options: either a Suburban (sat in those, too), an Econoline (don't like vans) or the Excursion. We also looked at Expeditions, but they seemed about the same size as our Ply Voyager...enuf passenger room, but NO cargo room.
Now we can go shopping in one trip!
Anyway, we went up to test drive an Excursion and the salesman said, "I JUST got one in today...I think you might like it. It's the LIMITED and it's ONLY $700 more!"
We took it home the next day. What a great ride. Better than a woman (well, almost).
