Let's get something new going here! SC 1704 anyone?

I keep coming back and finding all the same old threads going. Nothing new! So, let's get the Excursion forum going with some power talk that's going on in 6.0 Aftermarket.

I got my SC 1704 today!!!! I don't know how many of you have programmers or modules on a 6.0 in an Excursion, but this ought to be illegal! SICK power and awesome shifting. The shift points maybe could use some tweaking but that's minor and easy to do and I'm lucky wnough to be able to provide some of that feedback to hungry ears.

I had to try it today so I did, brielfy. I lit up both rears and had them bawling through 1st and 2nd gear and backed off. I need to do a poor man's 0-60 but I swear, it is scary!

So, anyone else....

Your right, not much new over here. I have been following your post over there in the aftermarkets forum. I would be much more interested in purchasing those mods but to tell you the truth my X just sits in the garage most of the time (I have a company vehice)and cannot justify the cost to myself. Maybe I will get a hair sometime in the near future.

Sounds Good!
I guess for you guy's with the 6.0's they(most of the chip industry) appear to have figured out all the little electronic quirks that go along with chipping an EX?
Best of luck with those PMR's and advancing the timing!

Brent.

Re: Let's get something new going here! SC 1704 anyone?

My concern is changing the original flash. I consistently get over 22 MPG (cruise control on 70 mph) and have a driving range of a little over 1000 miles per tank with the electronic program/settings as they came from the factory.

I would like some butt-o-meter additional power, but not at the sacrifice of mpg when getting the electronics reflashed to the required version.

What sort of mileage are you seeing prior to and after installation of the tuned programs?

Thanks in advance.

James

Man! I have never heard of that kind of milage out of an Excursion. That is great. I couldn't get 22mpg going down hill and the wind at my back.

From the Atlantic Ocean (Charleston SC) to the Missippi river (Memphis TN) (736 miles on less than 3/4 of a tank!) and all that through the mountains (both ascending and decending). The return trip was identical.

If I pushed it, I think I could get 16 hours of fuel per tank on level ground!

Re: Let's get something new going here! SC 1704 anyone?

same here, i average about 21-22 with a 7.3, goto florida 2 times a year, one fill-up halfway down. have been looking for some sort of power mods for the 7.3 but have heard bad and good from this forum and others regarding X chips, seems like all are geared twords F series and have bad results on the X's

am in the process of the spring and shock upgrades and performance is next, just like the above post do not want to sacrifice mileage for performance, a few MPG here and there is fine, just don't want the fuel mileage of a V-10....

what has been the general concesouse on the 7.3 chips and upgrades, what has been the best bang for the buck on 7.3 upgrades...

Many of us who tow have had great results with the Western Diesel chip in the 7.3 Power Stroke. My only other power mods have been the 2001 style Ford air box and a Walker Big Truck Muffler. 0 to 60 in 10 seconds.
