leveling kit and driveshaft growl

Today I picked up my Jackit 2.5" leveling kit which includes front spring packs plus rear add-a-leafs. The product manual states I will have a problem with driveshaft growl as a result of the lift (change in pinion angle?). Apparently the only remedy is to change the driveshaft (probably very costly).
Has anyone else had experience with lifted X's and drifeshaft noise? How bad is it, and at what speeds is it most prevalent? I would appreciate your feedback since I am having some reservations about the install if I'm going to have problems.

Re: leveling kit and driveshaft growl

I don't know if you'll have driveline problems with only a couple inches of lift. My X had serious problems after the 6" lift. It vibrated at low and high speeds. The fix was a custom built driveline w/a constant velocity joint($389.00). This finally fixed the problem.

However, some folks on this site have had no bad vibes when lifting their X's. I guess you'll just have to try it and see.
Good Luck!

Pics of the CV joint/driveline can be seen by clicking on Broomhilda.

Re: leveling kit and driveshaft growl

The X driveshaft does not have a CV. If you lift it to the point that you exceed 3 degrees, you WILL have vibration. Those who "claim" to have no vibration all seem to have ended up replacing their driveshafts. I wonder why?

Give Jese @ high angle driveline a call
