Leveling kit for an Excursion

Can anyone elaborate on my options here? I'm thinking of U, V, or X-code front springs from Ford. I guess I'll need a 3" or 4" rear block also (to replace factory block-are they 2"?- and raise 1.5" or so). Most leveling kits I see out there just add some leaves under the stock leaves in the front. This does nothing for clearance to the bump stop. Also, these kits include a track bar drop bracket. Is that necessary?

Lastly, some leveling kits (Fabtech and others) use dropped spring hangers and shackles. Won't the stock springs sag with the weight of the diesel in short order?
Thanks,
John

Re: Leveling kit for an Excursion

John, I would go X codes if I could do it again. I still bottom out sometimes like last night over the speed humps (not bumps) going 10 mph. The ride is not firm or harsh with the W codes and Rancho 9000's set on #3. You will need the 4" block or add a leaf to leep your rack for the rear. I used the leaf and am very pleased. Best of luck.

What's the height difference between stock and W-code springs? Did you measure before? BTW, nice amp and sub install! What did you use to build out the rear door panels?

Re: Leveling kit for an Excursion

I added X springs and 4" blocks to my EX. It is a V10 and it is .5" taller in the back. It is so level that it sometimes looks low in the back.
I am running 315/75/16 tires on 16x10 rims and only get a slight rub on the front fender rear plastic.

Ride is much better to me. I thought the ride with the stock springs was too squishy.

Steve give me a ring when ya'll wanted to do the Racor setup on your rig

We haven't bottomed out yet with the V's,maybe it's due to we stay away from speed bumps or humps as Steve stated
