The best advice you'll get on leveling your Ex will come from Ryan, who's known on this website as Mr. Superduty---do a search on his name, and it'll give you a link to his email, and probably a phone number---you can also search on "advertisers" under Superduty Hq....he's done more lifts than you'll do in your lifetime, and he's very free w/advice, even if you don't buy from him. Having done it once, to a Superduty, I used a Fabtech 3 1/2" leveling kit, and changed to a 4" block in the rear---that way, you're using the factory springs, and don't lose the factory ride. He may have other ideas---on his address, you'll also find links to his photographs, which have several lifted Excursions. Whatever you do, don't go the add-a-leaf route---it's cheap, but I hear the ride suffers!!!!! Either re-locate the brackets that will change the spring position, thereby changing the height, or change springs. The 450/550 springs is a popular way to go, but you'll probably wind up changing the rear block. In some instances, depending on the height of your lift, you'll need a new driveshaft. There is someone on this site (I think his name is Jesse)who makes driveshafts, and ships them to you. Do a search on driveshafts.
Hope this helps.
