We had a small amount of needed rain today while I was out in the wifes Ex. I purposely nailed it a little to see that traction was getting to both rear wheels and the only one that spun was the passenger ...the driver side never spun . It needs new tires and I noticed the passenger is worn quite a bit more than the others...I'll have to take that up with the wife at a later point in time. However, is it possible the Ex (2000) model does not have limited slip...I know you could order them without in the past ten years but assumed most newer vehicles had limited slip from the factory...especially the powerstoked ones since most tow with them. I know my 2000 F-350 has it and thought the Ex did unless it possibly needs a fluid change with the friction additive...I need to first find out if it has the limited slip differential. Limited slip is and has been a line item option on the X.
Unless it is ordered you do not get it.
It is not part of any package and has not been as far as I know.
Since it is a 2WD I would say no, it is an open diff look at the tag on it, i don't recall what it said but there was an indication on my 02 that it was a limited slip right on the tag

Limited slip diffs do wear out...especially when thrashing them on dry pavement.
If it is an open diff and you want L/S, you can always put one in...or maybe a nice ARB air locker...

If you find you actually do have the LS, many people report that their's does not really work from the factory. The solution has been to go into the differential and either cut or replace a certain spring or two (I have no idea what exactly) or something to that effect.
HOWEVER, I must say that myself and others fixed that little problem in a much different way. I had my differential gear lube swapped out for Amsoil's gear lube at about 15K. When I was driving away from the shop (DI in Houston), I thought something was wrong with my truck. Turns out, it was the LS actually WORKING!
I am not sure of the axle code off hand howevever, unless someone has "lost" the tag, there is a tag on the rear axle through one of the bolts that has the ratio (3.73) and LS if it a limited slip rear end.
Hope this helps,
John

sounds like you forgot the friction modifier...
I'm not sure if it still holds true, but Ford LS codes have always been a "letter/number" or "number/letter" two character code. Open differentials were either "number/number" or "letter/letter" two character codes.
The '05 F-350 has a "3L" code on the door sticker for a 3.73 LS
