Has anyone installed the Mag-Hytec diff cover on a 4x4 Ex. yet? If so what kind of a job was it? It seems like it would be pretty straightforward. I also have the Hellwig anti-sway bar. Is there any potential for problems with the sway bar? It seems like from another post I read that it lowers the operating temp but more importantly it captures the fine metal particles as advertized. Any feedback on this product and its install would be appreciated. I am at 30k and was looking to change the diff fluid but figured I would install the Mag-Hytec cover if it is worthwhile. Thanks!

Thanks Mike. I spoke to Jerry at Mag-Hytec about the product. He mentioned the friction modifier for the limited slip. I wasn't sure if mine had a limited slip so I called the Ford parts dept. He said that there is a tag under one of the bolts that indicates the gear ratio and also tells if it is a limited slip. On the tag it read "3L73 10 2 9M20" then on the second line it has "3S-413 B". The "L" means that the differential is indeed a limited slip. I also found another tag that said "75W/140 Synthetic Oil Only". My question is for those who have changed the diff. oil, what synthetic did you use and what is recommended by Ford? They obviously they want you to use a synthetic based on the tag. What brands meet the requirements and what is the cost per quart? I now know I need the friction modifier and Mag-Hytec has that for a nominal cost. Any help would be appreciated. Also what do the other numbers mean on the tag besides that it has 3.73 gears and is a limited slip? Is it the manufacturing plant and build date?
