Middle Seat Flip Down Armrest Upholstery Separation

My upholstery came apart on the flip down armrest in the center of the middle seat. Seems that it was held together with some sort of plastic joint thing. I cannot see anything that is broken, but I also cannot determine the “trick” to get it back together. One part has kind of a hooked over trough in it, and the other is basically flat with a slight ridge. Anyone know how this goes together? Is there some part missing? Am I stuck making my first visit back to the dealer to have it fixed?

Thanks!

Re: Middle Seat Flip Down Armrest Upholstery Separation

John
step 1
First the bad news. After you have struggled with this and almost got it together ( for the Nth time ) you succeed, only to watch it
come apart in spite of you.
Pull down hard and streeeeetch it, as you bring it up ,fold it over and insert it
down into the other plastic rod. They will
lock together. As you let it go, it will unwind and the two will be locked together again....hopefully.
repeat step 1
repeat step 1
step 2
REPEAT STEP 1 VERY SOON AFTER FIX.

Thanks DUNC! It seems to have worked. Hopefully it will stay put.
