Went for a weekend trip to my mothers' with the boys (8 months and 4 yrs - wife had weekend off). Had initially planned for a trip to the cabin, but reports of 8 meters of snow and -29 deg. Celcius during the day made me change plans (with the toddler and all).
Drove 640 kms total, over about 5 mountain passes (each way), snowy and icy all the way but didn't use 4WD more than a couple of miles total. Winter diesel with a -35 deg Celcius cloud point, not much load, studded BFG AT Trac Edge 265/75-16, -4 to -14 deg Celcius the whole way, probably didn't see 60 mph for the whole trip.
Computer mileage 1.37 liters per 10 kms or equivalent to 17.1 miles per gallon (bilingual computer)... Haven't filled up to check if the computer figures this right.
Maybe we'll try for the cabin in 14 days when the cold spell is over...

No, a total of 8 meters in the general terrain now and top sections of the slopes, up to 10-11 meters in the river valleys and canyons.
Here, at the coast, we have less than 1 meter of snow now (temperatures going from 8 below freezing to 8 over during the winter; snow doesn't stay for long).

With the only Excursion (yet) in Norway, a few questions have been asked, yes... All the Sub drivers are looking very hard (with envy, I presume).
