They don't supply build dates, they supply build weeks. Everyones build date is listed as a Monday. You wont find out what day it is built until its actually built.
Well it's built. Bobby Williams ran the VIN for me and it finished final assembly on Monday. Last I knew it was waiting for a rail car assignment. I also confirmed this via Ford Customer Service.

Got the rail car assignment this morning. Looks like it should be into San Antonio on Feb 15th and into Austin shortly after that. Dealer is saying the 20th.
I'm like a kid at Christmas time. Can't wait for the new toy..

Well I thought my trucks shipping progress was moving along fine until today. It moved by rail from KY to KS very quickly. But it hasn't moved since last night. It seems to be stuck in Armourdale, KS which is very close to Kansas City.
Any ideas why it would be sitting in the same location for an entire day. They also moved the scheduled delivery out by one day.
This waiting is killing me...

Probably stopped at that yard for a breakdown to be re-assigned to another train to head south or mechanical problems,line delays(Passenger,Priority Freight,Derailment,Maintenance of Way)
Several factors will hold up railcars to their destination yard.
Mighta got pulled into the Armourdale yard by CSX power then had to get broke down and re-assigned to UP power since UP rules the west and CSX the east [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

When I ordered my early - one of the first- 99 PSDs, it was the time when Santa Fe and Union Pacific merged. Their computer systems were not compatible at the time. And to further help out the shipping situation Ford had just made a change in their motor freight carriers [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]. Well to make a long and aggravating story short my truck made it to Kansas City pretty quick. It got put on a side rail [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] and got lost for three weeks (the rail carrier literally could not find over 500 vehicles [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]) and then managed to go to Albuquerque NM. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img] It finally made it to Pasadena ,TX. Here is where I got lucky, the transport carrier had a load going from there to New Orleans, LA and had a space left on his transporter and went into the office and saw where my truck was to go to Sour Lake and had them put it on. All he had to do was go down highway 90 instead of I 10. Well I had gone down to the dealership to see what was going on and we were getting ready to go to Pasadena and gt the truck. Just as we were pulling out of the dealership's lot here comes the transporter WITH MY TRUCK. One of the best vehicles I ever owned and was well worth the wait.
Friend I do not think you will have any problems anywhere near what I had.
Keep us posted on how the 6.0 and new tyranny work out. I want to order a new X before they quit making them.

Burlington Northern and Santa Fe got together to make BNSF in'97 and CN merged with BNSF in'99
UP merged with Southern Pacific in late'96.

I don't know why but I guess it is because we had the old Santa Fe here in our area. Yep you are right on the UP-SP merger. Anyway I was one poed jose about the deal and dang near canceled out on it.
I've had too many mechanical problems with this X so that is why I am holding off until the 6.0 is better proven out.

I ran across a fellow Excursion owner last night and they've had no probs with their 6.0,maybe International is now putting more than 5 minutes of QC into each engine rolling off [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]

If I recall at the time of when the last of the 7.3's were in production at International they were given 15 minutes each,then when the 6.0 started rolling down it was reduced to 5 minutes,I won't state those as facts but what I have read on the boards.
