More Info on Spring Swap 2004 X

I guess if you want anything done right do it yourself. Due to time restraints and not a big expense I paid a local spring shop that has been in business in the area as long as I can remember to install "U" Code springs in front and F350 Blocks in rear on Monday. Today is the first day I have driven it for any distance and noticed a slight vibration coming from the rear that has never been there before. Upon looking I found they installed the rear blocks backwards putting the tall end toward the front. They were clearly marked by the factory FRT> and I marked them Left and Right. This error actually made the pinion angle lower than stock and causing the vibration problem. The truck is going back this afternoon along with 4 uninstalled Bilstein shocks. I would think my trouble would be worth the labor to put the new shocks on. I don't see how they could mess that up they only fit 1 way. I will draw them a picture on which end of the Bilstein goes up. I have updated my pictures with Before and After if anyone wants to see the change.

Re: More Info on Spring Swap 2004 X

Just picked it back up from the F350 block swap and it is back to normal with no driveline noise. The Bilsteins were installed for free so I guess there is a plus.
The ride is much firmer with the Bilsteins. Cornering is the biggest improvement, very flat, little sway. Seems to glide over bumps and NO bounce. Big time improvement with springs and shocks.
By the way, the 2000-2001 model Bilsteins fit my 2004 X with no problems. I guess they want to change the valving is why they say they do not make them for newer model Excursions. I like them fine.
