I have a 2000 F350 with 84k miles on it and I like the truck. But, baby is on the way later this year and I figured I'd use it as an excuse to get an Ex or something with a covered "rear".
Anyway, I see 15 mpg with my current PSD (F350, 4x4, cc, lwb) on the highway @ 72mph, and I run 40k miles a year. It seems that the Ex's get better. So I did some searches, and I was wondering if these figures are still true.
Please tell me your highway mpg and at what speed you drive. Thanks guys!

POS, Round trip to PA with a 3K trailer netted about 17 mpg, 65-70 mph. Unloaded to Corpus with the 60hp program was 20.5 mpg at 65 mph. 80 hp program intown light foot is 17 maybe 18, hwy 19 at 65 mph. Have found myself getting used to a heavier foot.
does tire size go into the equation of mile per? are you running stock size or larger? does anyone have data on running large tires? I am running 35" and got 14.5 @ 70+ from cali to alabama. X only has 7500 miles on it.

~16.5mpg for a 2000 /w Western Diesel's original chip and Amsol airfilter in 75% highway driving doing 75 when driving conditions allow. Consistent over 45,000 miles.
I don't think we ever dip below 16 in the worst short-trip conditions; we get 20 on the long trips, even if the interior is loaded to the gills with heavy stuff (but not towing anything.) Bone-stock. 30K-ish miles.

At the en of the day MPG's are based around driving habits and what you are halling. But I will share a interesting thing happened to me. I have a X 4x4 and it was infor service. The salesman loaned me his crew cab 4x4 psd. I was surprized how much more fuel it used. I had it for four days and did the dame driving I did with my X but got worse mpgs. The 2 trucks are a lot alike but different results. With all the trucks computer controled one would think you would not see this. I also noticed the CC has less insulation to suppress the noise from the PSD. Over all I am very pleased with my MPG
Mine is still breaking in and has probably every option (as if a few more pounds would hurt it) and I am averaging 16mpg. Most of my driving has been in town or towing my boat (20' and 5,300 lbs). I haven't taken any trips other than about 60 miles one day and the trip computer was telling me I was getting about 19 mpg at a steady 75-80 until I hit road construction.
This think sucks enough fuel at idle I should be able to go 30 mph for what it drinks. I watched my mileage drop down to about 17 mpg after 20 minutes of stop and go traffic. I think the mileage could be over 20 mpg if I can keep it around 70-75 and I get a few more miles on it. FYI my fuel computer is VERY accurate; typically within .1-.2 mpg.
I recently added a SCMT and the improved performance is great. I think mileage may have gone up a little too but I keep putting my foot in it. If I can run a steady speed the computer shows about 1 to 1.5 mpg improvement at 75 mph. Normaly driving I have seen maybe .5mpg improvement with the 80HP mode engaged. Almost all mileage has been with the AC on and 3-6 people in the vehicle and this includes all the fuel used during the periods that I let the turbo cool down after running it hard.
Typically I have watched my average mileage decrease 1 to 2 tenths mpg while letting the turbo cool. I am a fanatic about this. I have owned too many turbo cars and trucks not to try and maximize the life of the turbo by not letting it coold down properly. So far the truck has been great other than the crappy springs and shocks on it. The DVD system is pretty good too.

I am also very satisfied with my fuel mileage. I run about 80% highway/20% city and my averages so far are: first tank 15.7,2nd 16.75,3rd 17.9,4th 18.5,5th 17.8 . I have the scmt 60hp and run about 74mph. My trip computer has been right on so far.
My Mother has a 2002 Ultimate Limited and I have had the opportunity to drive it quite a bit. Running around with about 50-50 Hwy-city it gets around 16-17 mpg. On long runs at 65 it will run 19-20 mpg. Run it down to 60 mph and I have seen 21.7 on long trips. I am very happy with the mileage this thing gets. By the way, the rig has 8,000 plus miles.

Never argue with stupid people. They just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
I have about 29,000 on my 2000 and average around 15 MPG day-to-day (Chicago traffic jams galore) and can see 17/18/19 MPG at speed (around 67 MPH) on the interstate.
Towing is around 12-13 MPG at 65 MPH with a 24' Wells Cargo Autowagon (~5,000 loaded).
Both represent summer diesel.
I've done the pre-pump mod so far and mileage seems to be up about 1 MPG.

Andy, do you have any pictures of your pre-pump mod? Also, if you have part numbers and where you got the parts it would be greatly appreciated. All the info I've been able to find is for trucks and you're the first "X" guy I've seen that's done it.

Dave
