Mudflaps

I just ordered the mudflaps. I have a limited with the tan bottom. The flaps came in Black and are called the Eddie Bauer type. I thought they came in the tan/beige color to match the trim. I saw where UTAH posted his as an accessory but he had no Email address so I just decided to throw it out for responses. Any ideas?

Re: Mudflaps

I just got my mudflaps for my limited and they are black. I guess Ford feels that they match the tires! I will install them this weekend. I wish they had included a small splash shield for just in front of the rear tires. Dirt seems to splash from the tire and run down the running board. I am going to get a pair of flat (black) rubber mudflaps and see if I can cut a small splash guard.

Re: Mudflaps

UTAH - you can in fact get Ford mudflaps for the front of your XLT Excursion. I asked the parts guy at my dealership to order the fronts for an XLT SD truck. They said they would accept a return if they didn't fit so I didn't see it as a risk. When they came, the label said for they were for BOTH XLT SD trucks and XLT Excursions. They fit perfectly. The part # is F81Z-16A550-AA/GA.

Re: Mudflaps

Hey - did I hear my name mentioned?

I'm well acquainted with the molded mudflaps for the Ltd. because my dealer got me a set by mistake (they will not fit the XLT). Anyway, they were black and ONLY available in black.

Re-ordered a full set for my XLT and found they only make the rears (???) and the fronts are not yet available from ANYBODY. So, I put the factory set on the rear and then (oh, the shame) put the fronts on from my Dodge Cummins - they even have the Dodge "ram head" symbol on them.

Will I be cast out for doing this?

Re: Mudflaps

Could someone please post the part number for the black Limited mud flaps?

I've been trying to get my dealer to order a set, but they claim that, according to their "microfiche", the Limited flaps only come in WHITE.

Re: Mudflaps

I think someone from GM wrote the parts book for the Excursion. I had 2 different dealers tell me they were only available in white, but found one that had ordered them for a XLT, only to find they didn't fit.
The part #'s are: YC3Z16A550CA
YC3Z16A550DA
Those are for the LTD, the paint manager said he could paint them beige, but wouldn't guarantee it. That and the $100 to paint them sold me on the black. They look great, even though they're black. I don't know which number is front or rear.

Re: Mudflaps

Hey bassman6, thanks for posting the numbers.

I just called my dealer, numbers in hand. He says they're the same ones in his book, but it still says they're white... I told him I KNOW they're black, based on what I've read in this forum topic. Of course, he's still not convinced, he's gonna "look into it further".

Normally, I'd just tell him to order the damn things and promise I'd pay for them even if they arrived white, but this is a "freebie". They were going throw in a free wind deflector when I bought the truck, which I later decided to pass on, and get mud flaps and a mat for the storage area instead. BTW, the mat is still on back-order.
