My feet are freezing!

This is the first winter we've had our 2001 X and it's been stinking cold around here. The engine heats up fine and the heater blows hot air, but not on my feet. I've been too lazy to go out in the cold garage and see if there's a vent closed somewhere. Can the heat be shut off near the driver's feet?

Re: My feet are freezing!

It is a little light on the air flow in my opinion also. Thank goodness for the hot seat and rear unit. Takes mine 15 miles to warm up by say 130 (Engine temp wise) degrees, I assume this is normal. What is the best way to block about half of the radiator without blocking the aftercooler? I have never looked to see if there is an easy way.

Re: My feet are freezing!

Push the button so that the air recirculates in the trucks cabin, will definitely heat you up quicker...

I use to block off half the radiator on my Suburban w/a cardboard box, have not looked to do that to the "X" yet...

Re: **UPDATE*** My feet are freezing!

I don't know how many of you care, but the problem turned out to be a dead vacuum pump. This thing isn't my daily driver, and I didn't notice that, no matter where I turned the dial, all the air was coming out of the defrost vents. What I did notice, just last week, was that the ESOF wasn't engaging the hubs. Based on research in other forums, I first suspected a leak, but it turned out the pump was stone cold dead. $170 later, and my feet are warm and the front hubs are locking again. BTW, the part number for this pump on an '01 X is F81Z-2A451-BA. I couldn't find a third-pary one, but perhaps you can.
