I crawled under my truck and looked and found a loose plug hanging down right behind the driver side front wheel right above the frame. It is a thick (1/2") red colored wire with a 1" rubber red round connector with 2 holes in the end that plug into "something". There is a clip in the frame that the "something" is held into place. That "something" is missing. This is located about 24" towards the front of the vehicle from the fuel pump. Anyone got any idea what I am missing?

I guess I should be reading more closely..... you had me looking at the rear of my 'X' - now that I am on the same page as you, I would agree - block heater.

There is a plastic clip (looks like for something about 1 1/2" in diameter) right by the end of the plug. This clip is opened and there is nothing there. The end of the plug cannot be plugged into an regular extension cord as the end of the plug is female with two small round holes. Is there another piece that belongs in that clip that the engine heater plug plugs into. This 'peice' I suspect would have a way to plug an extension cord into???
I would say that wire should be plugged into the block heater, rather than have a xtension cord plugged into it. The block heater is essentially what the oil filter plugs into...there should be something there the cord you found will plug into.
I would like a pic if youve got one. I took a picture of this plug I have been talking about but do not know how to post it to this site. The plug I am talking about is about 2 feet from the oil filter. I can email you (or anyone) a pic of this plug.
Well, you can't post to this site. You'll have to post to your own website, or some other picture sharing website. My e-mail is in my profile. send it on over.
Ah, that's easy. Go around to the front of your truck. Look at the right (driver's side) tow hook. Stick your hand in there to the left of the hook until you feel a plug. The prongs will be capped, so it'll feel like a rubber block on the end of the cable. There's enough wire in there to pull it out and have a look. While you're at it, you might want to squirt some trailer connection grease in the plug...it holds water pretty well and the prongs corrode fast.
Thanks... I knew it had to be around there somewhere. Too late winter is gone and now I don't need it! lol. Oh well, at least I'll be ready for next season.

Thanks for the pic. I will look tonight and see if that leads to that 'mystery plug'. The wire part looks the same. I forgot to email you that pic of the plug. I will do that to this evening.
