Last August we installed the new front bumper(about 250 lbs) and it seems to have helped break in the V code springs to where the clearance has dropped perhaps 3/4" to a 1" at my guess.
What are the thoughts from ya'll of upgrading to say W or X codes or just installing an Edge Mini Spring pack which seems the easiest and most flexible as 1"-3" can be added with that kit.
The front rake is quite noticable now and the wife wants me to do something about it

If your wifey doesn't mind coming by the computer monitor to see my wife's truck/s it won't take a phone call for her to say okay hun get the springs
I've got CRS FamilyRide, what's your first name again?

If you don't want to mess with the springs again you could do a front airbag kit for about the same cost (give or take $50). ?? That way if you decided you wanted a winch or anything else heavy later you'd be able to compensate with more PSI.
Have a good one,
Dave

Airbags eh? Anyone have actual photos of them installed on an Excursion/SuperDuty?
I'd just be concerned about the looks of them installed and having to top em off once a week primarily.

I don't have the front one's, but I do have the rears. I don't think you'd have to worry about topping them off often. They seem to really hold the air well. (if you take your time installing them)
I'd be curious how the front one's work. I'm tickled to death with the rear one's.
Regards,
Dave

The V codes and the Mini spring pack make a nice package up front. GREAT RIDE and would give you the extra lift you need. I would have the same concern as you with the front bags, I have them on the rear and they do seem to leak down a few pound over two weeks.
Our wives must be long lost sisters, mine told me the other day "I think we need to raise MY truck some more, it's looking small again" GOD I LOVE that women
Geez, and all I get is "Why can't you just drive it like it is???" She just doesn't get it

Mike "Chaw" right nearby has the V code/mini spring pack combo on his Excursion as he had mentioned to me hey your truck would look alot better with the mini spring pack, but after looking at how much time it took to do a spring swap I may be swaying towards the Edge kit as Mike can install it in about 30 minutes. Familyride,my wife will give your wife the keys to our truck and ask(or tell)her to take ours for a spin to experience the difference the springs make especially on dippy doo bumpy roads

So far the closest to the drivers seat she's gotten was climbing through to get out when it was pulled into the garage!
However, she does love how high we sit (although we aren't sitting as high as we should be in the front, Thanks Ford )
Oh well, she won't stop me from messing with it, but she'll razz me aboue it.

Your wife and mine must be related. Once you figure out how to convince yours, will you let me know? Mine will at least move it out of the driveway so she can get her car out...

I used a 1.5" add a leaf and got a total of 3" it was easy and you won't have to take the bumper off or springs.
