New Guy Question Please Help

Ok Guy and Gals. I am new here and new to Diesel. I just bought a 01 X limited 4X4 with 110K on it. I have been reading here for the last few weeks and I have not been able to get a grip on the aberrations that are being used. Do you know if there is some place that I can look them up so I can understand what I am reading.

Also what are some of the best upgrades that you have done to your X?

Thanks,
Brent

Re: New Guy Question Please Help

Unfortunately, you may want to save up for a new tranny soon. That year(mine has it to) has the mechanical diode in the tranny, which is not good. Some last and most don't. Me I have 95k on mine and is ok for now.
Adding a larger intake(a lot are using the AIS from www.powerstrokeshop.com), a freeer flowing exhaust(Walker Big Truck muffler), a shift kit(BTS valve body, sonnex/tricumulator or such), a set of aftermarket gauges(pyro, tranny, and boost) would be a start in the right direction. Then maybe a chip or programmer from www.DPtuner.com, but not too radical because of the mechanical diode. Then you will probably need that tranny from either BTS www.brianstruckshop.com, Suncoast, or ATS or such to handle the above. Look for LarryM's little secrets and you will find the accronyms you are looking for or someone will give you the link(sorry I don't have it)

Good luck and keep reading.........\
