New PSD

Just got my new PSD Excursion! It is the first one in this area. A toreador red limited-my first diesel.Hope I love it like the rest of you do, you talked me into it. I had originally ordered a V10, but after I drove this one, I decided it had to be mine!

Re: New PSD

Congratulations: I guess you were lucky to find one on the lot since they are just trickling out of the KTP. Keep us posted on your likes and dislikes of this PSD Excursion.

Re: New PSD

Good luck with your new truck. I had the chance to drive the V10 and PSD one after the other. My order will be for the PSD!

Re: New PSD

My wife just called me on the cellphone! She called to tell me how much she likes it! It supprised her while accelerating up an on ramp. She loves the POWER.

Re: New PSD

I know you'll like it. My wife loves driving my (our) truck. Check out the 99+ Powerstroke forum, you'll learn a lot there about the PSD. Consider joining Powerstroke Registry (PSR). They publish a quarterly magazine which alone is well worth the 39.95 is costs to join. (http://www.powerstrokeregistry.com/).
If you plan on doing your own preventative maintenance, you need to get a 15 qt oil drain pan, 4" oil filter wrench and coolant test strips. You can get the drain pan and wrench from WalMart. Get the test strips from DIS as well as FW-16 (http://www.dieselpage.com/).

Good luck with your PSD. I didn't know jacks**t about a diesel when I got my truck. Not that I'm an expert, but I know a hell of a lot more now thanks to this site.

Tired of fighting the wife for the truck. Starting research for a F-350 PSD (2001?). Will be Island Blue.
Y2K H-D Ultra Classic on order.

Excursion7.3PSD and Wayne Steele
Yes, luck and persistance. One thing some of you may not know is thar each dealer has a book with all of their orders in it. Ask to see the book, and see if they have one coming in that you can live with. This can cut weeks or months off of your waiting period. The dealer can also make changes to their orders,if you request them in time.
Richard
PS--The dealer just called my friend this morning, by changing an order, his PSD is in-ONLY THREE WEEKS!

Re: New PSD

Excursion7.3PSD,
I went to Austin last weekend, About 500mile round trip and about 100 miles in and around town. Got 17.8MPG by math and 17.7 by the display. I am happy about that, so far.

Re: New PSD

Fields, congrats. I picked mine up last friday.Average about 14.7 in the city (houston). Friends with PSD Superduties can't believe how quiet it is inside. I was also pleasently surprised at how much my wife likes it. She hated my 3/4 4wd Suburban. Since you went to Austin, you must live in Texas. Good Luck

Yep, in nederland, right below beaumont. My biggest worry was that my wife would not like it. The first time she drove it, a slight frown was on her face, but the third day she called me very excited about it. A lady I work with told me she didn't even think about the noise in her husband's truck after about a week. That was the deciding factor for me, as she is very picky.
