I will be replacing my recalled tires shortly and would like your advice. I mostly drive on the highway and tow a #7000 camper about 20% of the time. I do not want my fuel mileage to drop so I will stay away for a more aggressive tire tread. My X is stock with a new AIS air intake.
Michelins LTX M/S are good tires. Not an aggressive tread pattern. I would highly recommend them . I have had them on other trucks and will again when my stock BF Goodrich wear out on the X.

I normally do not make tire recommendations, because it just starts a big fight, but I will make an exception.
Consumer Reports periodically tests tires. I have bought 5 or 6 of its recommended tires and have never been disappointed.
Michelin LTX's are good tires.
Pros - Smooth, quiet ride. Long tread life.
Cons - Wet traction could be better, dry braking a little weak. $Mucho dinero$.
Bridgestone Dueler A/T (not Revos) are good tires. I bought 2 sets of them.
Pros - Excellent wet/dry traction, braking and cornering.
Cons - A little noisy.
Personally, I bought Dayton Timberline A/T's based on CR's recommendations. I have not been disappointed. I have driven in rain and snow (yes, we get that in Texas). Excellent grip.
Pros - Excellent wet/dry traction, braking and cornering. Not noisy (don't let the open tread fool you). Very inexpensive ~$425 out the door.
Cons - Hard to find. Only "D" rated.
CR has never been very impressed with anything with the "Firestone" name on it.
Goodyear Wrangers have never tested well. I also had a set on my Jeep. Crappy tires.
Toyo Open Country tested well.
Yokohama Geolanders tested well. A friend bought a set (replaced some Wrangers) and said that there was a night and day difference.
I had a set of Generals. I replaced them with the Duelers after I slid on a rain-soaked freeway and hit a bus (and a guardrail) at 60 mph (I was OK, not a bruise or a scratch). After the tire switch, never slid again. If I ever buy a car/truck with OEM Generals on it, I'll be buying new tires the next week for sure.
I have generally been impressed with the better quality Bridgestone tires. So has CR. I would have put Duelers on my X except the Daytons tested out just as good, had a less noisy tread and were about $200 cheaper.
If you want smooth and quiet above all else, go with the Michelins.
If you want to get an excellent tire and save yourself some money, go with the Daytons. 2/3 the price of Bridgestones, 1/2 the price of Michelins.
Only about 50% of the trucks on the board.

Yep, I really like them. They are a little noisier than the OEM tires but they are solid in every condition I've had them in.
They don't sound bad bawling through 1st and 2nd gear either, although I don't plan on doing that often at all, I had to try it with the new tuner!
