New vehicle survey

I bought my new Ex on 9/3/03 and have been waiting for a new vehicle survey. A buddy bought an 03 Explorer after me and has received his survey already. So I called ford yesterday and they were somewhat helpful but didn't at all resolve the problem. They were trying to tell me the survey goes from ford through the dealer to me, which didn't make any sense at all. They also told me the survey was random, which also sounds like BS. I always got them on my other new cars.

I was directed to a diesel help area when I first called in so I find myself wondering if the random part really means they're not sending them to 6.0 owners.

So, to the question. Has anyone else gotten a new vehicle survey from Ford? If so, how long did it take to get?

Re: New vehicle survey

I received mine maybe 4 months after I bought my truck. My wife has not received one for the T-Bird she bought.

Re: New vehicle survey

With QA survey processes (I'm sure they outsource it) it is very normal to be a random selection. When you look at the cost to survey every one, the response rate etc. it's more economily feasible to work within a calcualted margin of error. The benefit wouldn't be anymore $$wise either.

And yup, as with any QA process, it's can be modified to get a higher sample rate in areas or with products where they need more data to work with.

Re: New vehicle survey

We got a dealer service questionaire, but not one specifically about how we like the X. This survey took about a month to get here.

Re: New vehicle survey

Thanks. I finally called the sales manager and he said everyone is suppose to get one at about 3 weeks. He's seeing that I get one. I don't understand why Ford couldn't tell me that. Doesn't bode well for good answers from their "Help" line.
