Welcome and congrats!!
First off, read the Owners Manual and 6.0 Supp. Guide for maintenance.
As for oil, HA!! That's the $64k question. Try the General 6.0 forum for tons of threads on oil discussion. The 6.0 tends to shear viscosity pretty well so it's tough on oil and it just doesn't seem right to go the 75oo miles Ford recommends. I run Amsoil and although there a re all the argued benefits, I can't go extended drains because of the vis. shearing. So it almost makes sens to go from $70 for oil to $20 and use something else, unless I feel the other benefits of synthetic are worht it.
As for filters, most everyone uses Motorcraft (expensive from the dealer) or Wix which is the same filter as Wix makes them for Ford. I bought Wix for $11 each online at
www.filter1.com. Amsoil just released their filter for the 6.0 but it's still a little pricey even at my dealer cost.
Many drain the fuel seperator as Ford recommends about once a month, but I admit I haven't even looked at mine in 8000 miles. No problems which could mean I've been lucky and am getting good fuel.
Enjoy the beast!! I just got my tuner back yesterday so I'm loving driving it again. I don't recommend going form stock (which runs great) to running a module or tuner, then back to stock. It's painful!!
