Nice looking bumpers

http://www.aluminess.com/bumpers-For..._Excursion.htm

Bumpers are a little big, but gives me ideas for lights on stock bumper.

Re: Nice looking bumpers

I e-mailed them, got prices that day! Very resonable . I think these are a keeper I have asked them for more info as to thickness , type of aluminum and pictures of construction-braceing.

Re: Nice looking bumpers

These are the answers to my E-mails. The second one I got was on sunday , I think these guys know the word SERVICE
Quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1)A Front bumper complete with tow hooks, brush guards and locking storage box that will accomidate a winch is $1995 retail. A rear bumper without swing arms for spare tire or utility box is $1350. If you want the options on the rear bumper we need to know what items you would like. The front bumper will accomidate a warn 12,000 lb winch, that is what you see in the van and excursion bumpers on the web site.

The rear bumper comes with the mounts for the back up lights and a locking tool box. We can add tow hooks but my recomendation would be to pull on the hitch instead of the bumper. You can see pictures of the front and rear bumpers mounted on 2004 excursions on the web site. click on bumpers and then look at the white and red excursions. The sensor mounts are included. The silver one on the red excursion is as I quoted you, the black one has some optional storage boxes.

We powdercoat the bumpers because it is more durable that paint. It is difficult to match powdercoating to paint for an exact match. You are better off using a contrasting color. The silver powdercoat matched very well on the red excursion but I could not find a brown that looked like it matched my white & tan eddie bauer so I used black to match the mirrors and tinted windows. The bumpers can be painted as well with the Ford paint color but it is more expensive because I do a lot of volume in powdercoating and little in paint.

2)The aluminum is 6061 and 5052. The thickness ranges from 1/4" on the faces to 3/8" and 1" in structural areas. We use 6061 in structural areas.

I have a idea, PM if ya want to know.

Cary

Re: Nice looking bumpers

I don't like the lack of air holes in the front bumper, Trail Ready and Road Armour both increaced the air flow in their later edition bumpers. we have a oil cooler and power steering cooler located down there behind the winch box

I feel the same way when we we're shopping for our Full Replacement.
The engine skid plate also came with screened vent openings.
