There have been several reports of dealers who have been saying no '04 X. Here is why:
1. They want you to buy something NOW. They have '03's, but not 04's.
2. They are stupid and can't find their butts with both hands.
3. They are the laziest animals on the planet except for my cat.
4. They lie. That is how car salesman make their money. They lie.
Read this link when you have time. It's a riot:

For those of you who are offended, I have been hanging out at car lots since I was about 5 years old. My dad used to drag me around with him (I was the only one who would go). I am now 45, so I have about 40 years of experience with car salesman. I just did a count, I have also personally purchased 30 used cars and 26 new cars since 1974. Yes, I average about 2 per year. I have also helped friends and family purchase another couple dozen or so cars.
Let's just say that I have dealt with 100s if not 1000s of car salesman over the years, in a dozen states. The Edmunds article is right on target, based on my experience. I have met some good ones, but they are few and far between. I ALWAYS assume that they are going to lie through the nose and never believe anything that they say.
I once heard that car salesman can be grouped into 1/3's
1/3 are career salesman
1/3 are brand new
1/3 are quitting
So you have a 2 in 3 shot at getting a newbie who doesn't know where the bathroom is or someone who is fed up, couldn't give a damn and is quitting.
The order banks on '04 X's opens May 16, and JOB1 is in early July. If your dealer is saying something different, I'd talk to Bobby or Cochise and see what they can do for you.
