He is checking to see if he can get one may be available for me from his Ford sales rep. I guess August is comming early this year [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif[/img]
I thought I had more time to buy a new one, The 02 may be up for sale or drive it till the wheels fall off.
Best part is I may lower the payments [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/warmsmile.gif[/img] Just have to pay 3 years longer for a 3 year newer truck at a lower amount, some how that does not sound to bad.

Well according to my dealer and the Ford rep you can order all the X's you want just don't expect to get a diesel. FMC is balancing out parts and units and FMC has to many gas engines that ONLY go in the X onhand. So no more diesels. Time to get dealer to do a search and see whats on lots arround the southeast.

After four phone calls, it is a rumor, but a factory rep "in the know" confirmed hints of a 2006 EX and it will have the upgrades of the SD (susp, brake cont, dash, etc). The new ext Expedition just isn't going to be done in time, so they just might save the EX one more model year. While the production is still going (through August at least) they can always extend the production of the new ones.
My dealer told me that if that is the case, they will let me off the hook for my 2005 order and flip it over to a 2006 when they open up.

Talked to my dealer today who called "his Rep" Said no it is last year so I will do about the same. I told him if the 06 were upgraded then I would not want an 05 however if there were no cahnges and 04 to 06 was the same then ok I would just take the higher rebate.
We shall see, I have said it before the X may come back, they did not build them for the first year and a half after the new SD came out in what? early-mid 98 as a 99?
Bottom line is who knows, Ford may not yet depending on orders, the rep told my guy they are selling like crazy again like in 03 when the rummer was they were going away. It all comes down to $$$$$ and production availability and how to make the most $$$ with it. I am sure Ford is looking at sales #s and scratching their heads and saying "now what do we do".
If the X does get a rebirth down the road I will let them build it a year or two first, or I may not need one by then. All I know is if I get one now and they never come back I can drive it for 8-9 years or 300K what ever comes first. And I don't think I will need one past that.

Hopefully Ford is realizing that if sales are booming on the rumor, the artifical demand is just another bubble just like 75% of our economy is. You rely on bubbles and you get a face full of sticky gum!!

So, is there not going to be a 2006 Excursion? I thought that the Excursion was getting cancelled after a short 2006MY production run. I need to order one last Excursion for myself, and I was waiting until the 2006s were out.
