Oil puddle on the engine

I have noticed a puddle of oil on the area behind and under the fuel filter cover. Could this be from the turbo? Any suggestions woould be helpful

Re: Oil puddle on the engine

I've also seen posts where people had it dripping out of the intercooler tubes. Might check there too as it's easier to get too!

Re: Oil puddle on the engine

I had the same problem. Actually mine accumatled so much, that it was running down the side and rear of the engine and dripping from my flywheel cover plate on the trans. Lots of folks mistake this for a rear seal leak. When in fact, it was leaking from my intercooler tubes. I removed the tubes to clean the surfaces from oil, tightened up the clamps, cleaned up the mess, and have been leak free since.

This is not to say you have the same problem, but I'd check them. You might alos want to check your connections for the high pressure oil pump. It's not uncommon to have a bad O-ring or loose conenction there too.

Re: Oil puddle on the engine

It could also be your crank case breather spilling over.

Re: Oil puddle on the engine

If the oil is in the back 1/3 of the engine, check turbo pedistal.
If in first 2/3 rds of engine check for high presure pump and lines to drives side head. I've had both .
