Oil Residue on Turbo Intercooler Fittings
Has anyone noticed their inlet and outlet hoses to the turbo intercooler seeping oil? I noticed on one of the hose labels that is says something about being aware of oil residue when disconnecting the hoses. I checked the clamps and they seemed tight so I cleaned off the oily residue and dirt and have been inspecting them weekly. Is this a problem that should be looked at or are they all prone to seepage? As a rookie can anyone explain what is happening with the oil inside the intercooler system. I can only guess that it is to lubricate some of the moving parts in the turbo but why does it flow through the intercooler rather than being circulated just through the bearings of the turbo? Thanks in advance!
