Opine - better resale: 6.0 Ex or Z71 Burb

With two kids now, I'm thinking of leaving my pickup life behind and moving into the family wagon realm. I'm not buying new (too much depreciation), but I am looking at an '04 Z71 Burb for $31k and an '05 EB Ex 6.0 for $36.5.

It makes sense out of the gate to buy the Burb (hwy gas mileage ought to be about the same), but I may loose that edge quicker as two years go by. Generally, I trade out every 2 years which is about 90k miles to me. I think I'd rather drive the Ex, but realistically I could drive either.

What's y'all's experiences with the resale side of the Ex? There's been many posts about crappy resale on the Ex in the past, but with no more 3/4 ton diesels being made, I'm thinking that may not be such an issue anymore.

Resale does suck, but resale for any mid-large truck isn't great right now.

As for MPG, I cna't imagine the Sub gettign the same milage, but it's also a case of what makes sense to you. For $36.5 that's not a bad deal compared ot $31 for a 1/2 ton gas Sub and you should be able to sell the diesel Ex. much easier than a gas Sub.
