I have an 01 Excursion that has the overhead console that displays the average MPG and Miles Till Empty. I also have a superchip programer that messes then numbers up where they aren't accurate.
MY QUESTION: Is there any chip or programmer available that doesn't mess up my over head displays on my excursion?

Mines an '04 which is different, but I'm lucky that mine is very accurate. The tuner doens't mess it up and last fill, overhead was .4 and hand calc was .38. I figure that's pretty much close enough.

I have an 01 and mine was about a half mile to the good side of the scale. I just got back from picking up a car in New Orleans. Drove from Houston to New Orleans and it was only .5 to .3 off. I was getting better than it was saying. Now my X is stock also.

All work has been done by Diesel Innovations!!!!! Thanks to MR POWERSRTOKE RACER for all the help.
Stock mine is almost perfect. But with the chip/programmer it's miles off. So I decided I'd remove the programmer and sell it to a friend. The power was nice, but it never really saved me much money. I may be weird, but I'm alot more comfortable with a "stock" vehicle.

My truck on the, lowest setting on the programmer, gets at least 3 mpg better in town and more on the hwy over stock mileage. That has more than paid for the programmer.
It just drives around better too. I would never leave it stock.
Due to the way most programmers or modules work with fooling several parameters in the engine, we have found that they all mess with the overhead consoles. Its just something to live with or factor in when running the mpg numbers. Its always best to hand calculate to get the most accurate readings anyway, but it is nice to look up there and see some better numbers, even if they are off....hahaha
