Re: Picture Excursion 6" lift

From the looks of the lift, it appears that the front is higher than the rear---you might want to change out the block in the rear for a bigger one. Also, it looks like you could use bigger wheels!!!! How does it ride???

Re: Picture Excursion 6" lift

aces full,

it's actually level. the truck is not on level ground in the pic. the block in the back is already tall. i'm going to springs in the rear soon but i might lose the ride. the ride is actually good (softride) skyjacker. it handles better than when it was stock. possibly also due to the taller, wider tires.

no driveline vibrations, even at 100mph. i had to try it...

Re: Picture Excursion 6" lift

what chip are you running???? I ask, because the truck won't hit 100 without removing the limiter!!

Re: Picture Excursion 6" lift

aces full,

that's why i had to try it. i read somewhere that it should cut out at 90, 95 or 100mph. i was surprised when i looked down that it my speedometer was down there. i have 35's and my speedo has not been adjusted, so i was probably really going 105 - 110mph. but didn't want to say that without really seeing it on a gauge >100mph. i won't be doing this anymore for obvious safety reasons...

does anyone now about these limiters for sure? which X's have them? when do they work?

V10, 4x4, 4.30, flowmaster, no chip and no intake yet.

Merry Christams all!!!

Re: Picture Excursion 6" lift

I have the superchip and I've hit 110. Before that, it wouldn't go past 92. It won't just shut off, I guess for safety reasons, but I've noticed a difference with the chip. I can pass at 70 and leave the traffic behind. You should see the look on the driver behind me when I leave them. On more than one occasion, I've seen the driver point to us as we depart.

Re: Picture Excursion 6" lift

C999
Nice ex! I'd like to see how you get the skis out of the ski rack! Just kidding.
(I think that Ford should provide a Ford logo, 36" fiberglass 3-step ladder instead of the chairs.) I've been defering shock/swaybar mods until I decide weather or not to lift. I have also been considering a rack like yours for the spare tire & lights (you can never have enough lights you know). I'd like to store my tools and fire exting. where the tire is now, and make 4x8's easier to load w/o the tire inside. Do you like the rack? Why'd you decide on the shorter one? Appreciate your comments...

Re: Picture Excursion 6" lift

shamuex,

the rack i have actually has an (1) extension on it that can be easily added in the middle of the rack. i think i can add more extensions if i want to. i chose the yakima road warior because i can attach yakima/thule attachments for bikes, board or kayaks on top of the rack. it really works great. i put the cooler in there in the summer and strap it with a net that it comes with and i don't have to worry about mud/water inside the truck.

check out sportsrack and they can tell you all about the different racks. conferr would not have allowed me to attach anything on top
