I'm going to get started with my mods on the '02- we rarely use our SUV during the winter since it's used mainly for summer vacations to Canada and boat pulling, so the upcoming months will bring a lot of projects, (and money spent)I'll probably be bothering you guys from time to time..... I had a 3-guage pillar setup on my '00 Excursion Limited- trans, pyro, and boost from Western Diesel. I'm thinking about doing a 4-gauge on this Ex, and wondered what your opinions were on doing this, and what the 4th should be. I'm leaning a little toward a voltmeter, since Ford took that away with their crap trans gauge, and would probably mount it in the top position since that is going to be the hardest to see. I think they're going to be Isspro- I like the looks of the DiPricol Optix better, but have heard problems with them fading, something I won't tolerate.
Anyone gone this route? All opinions welcome!
Jim

My vote is X monitor flushed into the OEM radio position. That frees up room to add more gauges under the instrument display down the road. It is also very stealth and is not a visible hinderance like the A pillars.
I went with oil pressure and a real temp guage on my quad pod. The temp gauge mainly cuz I' running a 2 tank veggie system. But I think having real gauges no matter what you are running is worth it.

The most important gauge to add to the normal 3 is fuel pressure... Nothing can leave you on the side of the road quicker then a dead or dieing fuel pump... Of all 16 I have... Volts is one I could give up if I had to...
The wifes X has the overhead pod with pyro, boost, tranny and fuel pressure... Looks great!
