Pioneer Avic Experience, anyone?
SO I was in Circuit Chitty the other day, specifically to check out the Pioneer AVIC N2. The guys up front couldn't get it to accept an address input. After I sent them away to call the factory to figure it out, I determined that it was because the parking brake sensor wasn't properly connected. They had a tech come up and 'toggle' it, whereupon I was able to play for a while. This brought up a couple of questions:
1. Does anyone know if it can be connected in a manner that will allow you to input an address while you are moving - or at least with the emergency brake OFF? I don't WANT to watch videos while Im moving, but I DO need to be able to change addresses if necessary. Grounding the wire WILL NOT work, I am told - apparently it needs some sort of 'state change' periodically to determine that it really is connected to the park brake.
2. While searching around the net I saw several posts stating that these things were somewhat fragile, i.e. there had been a lot of people who had failures with them, specifically the motorized screen portion. Anybody here have any personal experience?
Thanks in advance for any help.
