Please Help-oil Pouring On The Ground

I just put my jobe performance intake on today. You are supposed to reuse the 90 boot that is on the stock crankcase breather and connect it to the new intake. No matter how hard I tried with turning it, trying every wich way, it would not work. So I went and bought a chunk of hose and put that on, and the hose want kinked alot, and I was planning on changing that later. That is the only thing I can think of that could cause any problems. I went to the store and noticed a trail of oil when I came out, luckily, and saw a puddle forming under the x so I hurried home. I check everything out with my flashlight. I cant see where it is leaking from the top and on the bottom of the engine the oil is coming down from both sides but more on the passenger side. This really sucks, and I hope its something small. Its a good amount of oil coming out. Any ideas??!!!

MT56 I don't have a clue on what's causing your problem. I would lean toward the kink in the hose.

I have read a bunch of your posts and you ask some good questions. Since you are fairly new you would do yourself some good to spend some time reading some of the archived items. There is such a wealth of knowledge here it is unbelieveable!! Such as your water/meth question, can be found in other forums more so than the X section, as there are not as many fine folks with X's that go that route. You have to seek out the hot-rodders(nothing wrong with that) and they will give you the ins and outs and yes it has been done on a 7.3 PSD. In time if you don't mind waiting you will probably get an answer, but a quicker answer will be had in some of the other forums relating to the 7.3 and increasing horsepower.

Hope I don't come across in the wrong way, just trying to help out.

MT56, I was just crusing Bob Riley's site, DIESELSITE - DIESEL MAINTENANCE and PERFORMANCE, and saw that he offered a water/meth kit. I would give him a call, he will answer all your questions and then some.

Hows' that for some help?? There are probably other vendors out there but Bob is among the best. Oh, and I have bought some of his products in the past, fast service.

oil on ground

Hey,
Thanks for the heads up. That would be a better idea I guess and I will do some searching. I am taking it into the Ford garage tomorrow and just wanted to have a good idea of what is was when I brought it in so I dont get jerked around. You did not come across in a bad way at all and I should of known better I guess and done a little looking instead of just posting. Thanks for the info on the water/meth kit, I will give Bob a call. Have a good one. Wish me luck tomorrow!!

Mine had a similar leak. It turned out to be a high pressure oil line towards the back of the engine. I had it fixed at the dealership. I couldnt find the leak myself.
Just an idea.
Cheers

I had an oil rail plug start leaking all of a sudden and oil was all over the place on my old 97. I used a telescopic mirror to confirm it was a plug. Plug cost less that 10 dollars from Ford but I had to buy some new wrenches to get to it.

Oil Leak

Well, I have to say I am very surprised. There was oil in the valley but they cleaned that all out and could not find it leaking anywhere on top, turbo pedestal, HPOP, or anything. The transmission bolts were loose, really loose, so they tightened them all up, and let it run for a hour and a half, and not a drop of oil. They said the tranny was flexing and causing the main to squirt out oil. That is their theory, and I dont have anything better. All I can say is that it is not leaking oil now and that is a good thing. I am going to keep a close eye on it and the valley of the engine is clean and dry so I will be able to spot any leak up there. Thanks for all your help and ideas, it all helped.
