Poping noise under dash while driving

I heard my car had poping noise under dash while I driving. This noise is gone while the engine idle. Is there anybody has the same problem and how you fix it? Any input will be appreciated.

Re: Poping noise under dash while driving

There are two potential popping noises you describe that I have experienced. Under the dash mine was the heater diverter door that was slamming shut. I'm not sure if the door operates with the vacuum system, but once I found my vacuum line disconnected at the front right wheel, and fixed it, the popping sound went away. This was purely coincidental because I was trying to find out why my auto hub lock feature didn't work.

The other popping noise was actually under the driver's floorboard. The front axle springs u bolts were VERY loose. Tightened those and that popping sound went away.

Good Luck!

In the past the blenddoor is little more noisy with the windows down while driving but that's not often.

Re: Poping noise under dash while driving

Not uncommon.

Check the body mounts under the driver's seat/floor area.

Check the front sway bar mounts.

Hope this helps,
John

Re: Poping noise under dash while driving

This was not by accident. The vacum source controls both functions. When the line was disconnected, little vacum was left for anything else.
