power door locks?

Left EX idling went into store wife locked all doors from pass. side came out could not unlock doors using switches, fingerpad, or remote she had to reach across and do a manual unlock. never had problem before. Just turned 700 miles. If you lock and unlock 5-6 times quickley you can hear the switches in all doors trying to actuate but the buttons stay down or up. Wait a few seconds and then they work fine again. Seems like a heat problem, maybe a relay? Ford wants it, really don't want them monkey it up yet. Anyone had a like problem like this?

I HAVE THIS PROBLEM!!!! .....and I have had it back to the dealer several times. No clue. They claim everything checks out fine. I have locked the keys in the truck a couple of times and relied on the keypad and I have been locked out. Big time embarassing when you are locked out of your truck on a date. My 2 cents....

I was under the impression that remote from the key and keypad do not work if the truck is running. Actually my wife just told me its if the key is in the ignition, not just running. If this isn't supposed to be the case, I'd sure be interested in hearing it.

hmmm.......

this is interesting because i often leave mine running [and idling at 1200] and lock it. i always unlock it with the keypad. am i doing something wrong?

I regularly lock the X and leave it running. I use the keypad on the door to get back in. No problems so far.

I do know that the remote does not work when there is a key in the ignition though - just the keypad.

I lock the tuck with engine idling and can unlock using either the keypad or the spare remote.
edit: works if passenger locks all doors from arm rest.

I also leave the X running and unlock from keypad, but I have never locked it from the passenger side. I will give it a try and see if I can still get in.
