Power upgades and Transmission controllers

Anyone using the ATS flip chip thinking about that or Banks big hoss? Also anyone seen the tow loc from bd I think with the tow loc you need to pull the trans command same with the flip chips since they increase line press. How about with the chip and the tow loc do think those would work together?

Re: Power upgades and Transmission controllers

You might try posting this in the upgrades forum. I'm only running the increased line pressure from the SCMT. I know there's some issues with "stacking" mods to the tranny but that's about it.

Regards,
Dave

Re: Power upgades and Transmission controllers

I would suggest the Banks Big Hoss chip at the appropriate power level for the air intake, compressor wheel and exhaust you are using with the Transcommand. It is true that you do not want to stack products which increase transmission line pressure such as the BD and Transcommand, they do not play well together. This includes chips which increase line pressure as well.

Re: Power upgades and Transmission controllers

Hardimes,

I cannot answer your question as the TowLoc is not yet available and we have not yet gotten one try. However BD does indicate in their information that the TowLoc will be programmable to work with a retarder and engine performance modifications. From this I would gather that you should be able to use it with any chip by changing how it functions.

Here is what BD says about the TowLoc:
The TOWLOC is BD's new programmable transmission and convertor control designed for exhaust brake applications; the most powerful transmission control yet.

The TOWLOC monitors the operation of the vehicle speed, engine speed and engine load to compute the optimum transmission control algorithm. This process controls transmission downshifting as well as torque convertor operation for optimum results. You can also customize the unit for the ultimate transmission control for working your truck with an exhaust retarder and a higher performance engine.

The TowLoc comes preset with all of the following features but can be modified by a BD accredited Diamond installation facility or by an at home technical buff with a personal computer. The electronics are packaged in weather resistant enclosure for the engine compartment that taps into 10 -12 sources for control and sensing.
