ProComp or FabTech?

I have the cash and I'm ready to lift the X. I want a 6" with 35" tires. I think I've narrowed it down to FabTech or ProComp. I'm kinda leaning more towards ProComp. Does anybody have any Pros or Cons they care to share. I'm looking for a package deal for the lift kit, wheels and tires. Is National Tire & Wheel a good place to go? Any help will be appreciated.

Re: ProComp or FabTech?

I had that lift on my old X and was happy w/it. National Wheel & tire is probably one of the best places to get your complete package and best price. 4 Wheel Parts isn't bad if you can purchase locally. I wouldn't recommend using their mail order.

Good Luck,
Lane

Re: ProComp or FabTech?

I have a friend who put a Fabtech lift on a F150. It lasted about 6 months (well, 1 trip to Glamis,CA) and he had to rip it out... had a custom job put in after that. The custom guy said the Fabtech is really only for looks... good luck!

Re: ProComp or FabTech?

My friends work at a large aftermarket 4WD seller and they install hundreds of FabTech kits in all kinds of vehicles. All I have to say is, that if you ever hurt the lift, Fabtech will claim you damaged it offroading and have voided their warranty. You will be stuck with a pile of blue parts that have a nice powdercoat on them but aren't backed by the factory that made them. Their systems are definitely made for show not go.

Re: ProComp or FabTech?

I ordered the 6" ProComp w/Weld (stone crusher) wheels, dual shocks up front and Rancho 9000's all the way around. Thanks for the info.
