There is a propane shop in the Dallas area that does vehicle conversions on gassers. I have ehard they do more propane conversions than any other shops in the US. I have been to the shop and have seen Expeditions, Navigators, and other vehicles sitting in the back waiting to be converted to propane. You might call them and ask about tanks.

IMO, a propane tank on the outside of the frame rail is a time bomb waiting to get T-boned and go bang. Propane is some kind of nasty stuff when it is misshandled. There is no way I'd sit over that and be comfortable, even if it was a DOT approved tank and I'd never put my family at that risk, either, just for the few dollars that propane would save you in fuel mileage and the thrill of the added accelleration. It must be nice to go through life without any worries, but then again, it could be suicidal, too.
