PSD Badges yes/no?

I noticed on the Excursions a distinctive lack of PSD badging on the front doors. I've seen these badges on ALL other PSD equiped trucks!! I just bought a pair and wanted to find out what ya'll think of applying them?? Good or bad idea?

Also, This is a real stickler. I'm trying to find a nice carpeted cargo mat for the rear. Primarilly something to cover the holes left when I pull the 3rd seat out for long road trips. That will be where the dog will roam around and I don't need for her to be breaking a leg in those deep trenches.

P.S. Damn!! This spanking new truck is fun to drive!!

Re: PSD Badges yes/no?

Badges? Yes.

It shows you are an enthusiast and not just a clueless soccer mom that doesn't even know how to check the oil.

I need to get some too..............

Re: PSD Badges yes/no?

Thumbs up on the badges. I got three. One for each side...then another on my rear right cargo door. Wanted to make sure everybody around me knew what I had under the hood. Plus, I made the dealer throw them in beofre I sealed the deal. So I figured I'd get three as long as he was buying. Yeah, yeah...I know...I bought them. But it feels better when they say...OK...we'll throw them in too.
Regards, Toolman

Re: PSD Badges yes/no?

I am a fan of the badges. I just bought two off a fella on E-bay. I think his user name was claxxon. They are the new powerstroke (in red) DIESEL (in caps) and I put them on the doors where they should be. I also bought two Ford 4x4 super duty decals (to go on the rear quarters) just to people know what just passed them

Re: PSD Badges yes/no?

My badges are the 99-2000 style Power Stroke Diesel V8 with the 2 red underlines F81Z-16720-ZB.

I've got one badge on the right rear door, but the other 2 are up on the sides of the power dome bulge on the hood, where a true muscle car should have engine ID. Looks good on the red hood. Also the semi drivers can see them and know I won't be giving any ground going up the next hill.

Re: PSD Badges yes/no?

I put mine under the Excursion badge on each side. You might be able to see them in my photos. I didn't like the way that it looks on the backdoors, so I didn't put one there. I'd like to find something other than the large 4X4 decal to show that it's a 4X4, but nothing has caught my eye yet. Any suggestions?

Re: PSD Badges yes/no?

Went to the parts dept. to look into badges...

$18 EACH!

Is this what everyone else is paying, or am I looking at the wrong part number?

Re: PSD Badges yes/no?

We took delivery of our new 2001 Excursion LTD PSD 4x4 several weeks ago and the first thing I wanted to do was add the PSD badges. So I mentioned it to my wife in passing but I wasn't quite prepared for the backlash. She asked me why I wanted to crap the truck up like that. That the truck had nice clean lines and the badges would ruin the look. I told her that I wanted people to know what was under the hood. Big mistake. She then asked me if it would be OK if she got implants and had "36DD" tattooed on her sides! How do you answer that?

Can't win for loosing...

But I ordered the badges anyway!

The pair was $21.60 plus $4.50 shipping via 2 day priority mail.

First mistake was even mentioning it to her. You should have just put them on and she probably wouldn't have noticed. If she did, just say they were there when we bought it.

Got the dealer to give me mine. Actually, my wife convinced them. She bought me a shotgun for Valintines day too!! Can't beat that.

Re: PSD Badges yes/no?

I paid about $14 each for all six of mine. If I'm not mistaken, the '99 badges have red, and the '01 badges are all silver. Mine are the '01, at least as far as I know. The parts guy at Jordan Ford seemed to look at me funny, so I didn't ask too many more questions. He really looked at me funny when I wanted to order the F-550 springs.

Dieselfan ROTFLMAO

I ordered and have got them in but not on yet . The smaller ones for the 99 that was on the front of the fender and I am going to put them in front of the Excursion on the sides. Part # is: F81Z-16720-ZA

I got a large to put above the Excursion on the left rear door and its part # is F817-16720-ZB. Yep they are kind of pricey but that is what I wanted

Take care all,

Re: PSD Badges yes/no?

"Badges...We don't need no stinking badges"

Baffles me why people will spend $$$ to make a truck look worse ???

My humble opinion of course, but if you need badges to let peole know you have a diesel you must have one of the rare silent diesels...
